Abstract:
Megh Nad Saha is the only Indian who was nominated twice for the Nobel Prize for physics. The reports of the Nobel Committee and the nomination letters connected with the proposal and selection of the Nobel Laureates were obtained for the year 1930 and 1937, and their contents are represented in this paper. Although Saha's work was evaluated as an important achievement in the field of modern astrophysics, yet he was not awarded the Nobel Prize. The reasons are given in detail.
